Residential pools

Pools designed for how you actually live.

From courtyard plunges in inner-city terraces to family pools in coastal homes — we design and build pools that integrate with the architecture, landscape, and rhythm of your home.

A pool is the second largest investment after the home itself.

It deserves the same architectural thinking. We've built our reputation on residential pools that hold up — structurally, aesthetically, and financially — for the long haul.

Our residential pools start with deep site analysis: soil conditions, levels, drainage, access for construction, sun aspect, sight lines from the house, and how the pool relates to landscaping and entertaining areas.

Then we engineer for permanence. Reinforced concrete shells, marine-grade tiling, premium filtration and automation, and finishes that look as good in 2046 as they do on handover day.

What we build for private homes.

i.

Concrete Pools

Fully custom shapes, sizes, and finishes. Ideal where the brief is bespoke, the site is tricky, or longevity is non-negotiable. Typical lifespan: 50+ years with maintenance.

ii.

Plunge Pools

Compact pools (typically 4-6m long) designed for courtyards, terraces, or smaller lots. Surprisingly versatile — cool down, swim against jets, or use as a cold plunge.

iii.

Lap Pools

Long, narrow pools (typically 15-25m) for serious swimmers. Often integrated along boundary walls or down the side of a home where space is tight.

iv.

Infinity & Wet Edge

Pools that visually merge with a view, lawn, or horizon. Engineered with hidden gutters and balance tanks — when done well, they're unforgettable.

v.

Spa-Pool Combinations

Integrated pool and spa builds with shared filtration. Hot bath one minute, lap pool the next. Common in our luxury residential briefs.

vi.

Renovations

Resurfacing tired pools, retiling, replacing equipment, or full structural transformations. We can also extend, deepen, or reshape existing pools.

Lap pool in residential garden

Finishes that age well.

The interior tile or finish is what you see for the next 30 years. We work primarily with:

  • Glass mosaic tiling — the gold standard. Bisazza, Trend, Ezarri.
  • Ceramic & porcelain tiles — durable, broad colour range.
  • Pebblecrete & exposed aggregate — textural, natural finish.
  • Marblesheen & quartz finishes — premium plaster surfaces.
  • Natural stone coping — travertine, bluestone, sandstone, granite.

We'll guide you through what suits your site, climate, and aesthetic — and what holds up best for Sydney conditions.

Residential pool FAQs.

How long does it take to build a residential pool? +
Most residential concrete pools take 12-16 weeks from excavation to handover, including curing time. Fibreglass installations can be faster (6-8 weeks). Approvals before excavation typically take 4-8 weeks depending on the council. We'll give you a realistic timeline at the design stage.
Concrete or fibreglass — which is better? +
Concrete offers unlimited customisation, longer lifespan, and higher resale value but costs more and takes longer to build. Fibreglass is faster, slightly cheaper, and easier to maintain, but you're limited to manufactured shapes. For premium homes, concrete is almost always the right call. See our journal article for a deeper comparison →
Do I need council approval? +
Yes — almost always. In NSW, most pool builds require either a Complying Development Certificate (CDC) or a Development Application (DA), depending on the property and council. We handle the entire approvals process as part of our standard service.
Will my pool need a fence? +
Yes. NSW law (Swimming Pools Act 1992) requires compliant pool fencing on any pool that can hold more than 300mm of water. We design fencing into the project from day one and ensure full compliance at handover.
How much does it cost to run a pool annually? +
A well-equipped Sydney residential pool typically costs $1,500-$3,500/year in chemicals, electricity, and maintenance — depending on size, whether it's heated, and how it's used. Heat pumps, energy-efficient pumps, and pool covers significantly reduce running costs.
